Batts Hill Gin Hibiscus Sour Recipe

This hibiscus gin sour recipe is the perfect gin drink to serve your Queen, Lady or Deity this Mothering Sunday.

It is a beautiful, pink cocktail and a classic sour drink. The Hurt liqueur gives this gin drink a lovely colour, and the hibiscus syrup adds a delightful, floral fragrance.

Batts Hill gin sour recipe

Ingredients:-

  • 1 egg white
  • 50mls Batts Hill Cucumber & Clementine gin
  • 20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon hibiscus simple syrup, recipe below
  • 10mls *Hurt Liqueur

Hibiscus Simple Syrup:-

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers 
  • In a small sauce pan, simmer sugar and water until the sugar has dissolved. Add in the hibiscus flowers and simmer for another 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit for another 20 minutes if you can!

     

    Method:-

    The egg white gives the cocktail a frothy layer, but if you want to leave it out you can. Add all of the ingredients in a large cocktail shaker with ice. Shake very hard for 30 seconds. Strain into a small glass over large ice cubes. Garnish with a few dried edible flowers.
