The beginning of September means back-to-school time for the kids and a sigh of relief for many Mums & Dads (including us!). When the children are through the school gate, why not invite other parents back to yours to celebrate a little newfound freedom with this tasty tipple... The Batts Hill Boozy Brunch.
Batts Hill gin
2 lemon wedges
¼ teaspoon caster sugar
Pinch of ground ginger
Put basil, castor sugar, and ginger and lemon wedges in a cocktail shaker. Muddle to bruise the basil and release the lemon juice. Add grapefruit juice and Batts Hill gin and proceed to give it a good shake. Strain into an ice-filled glass (discard lemon wedges) and top up with soda.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
