The classic Margarita is made with tequila, but swap it for gin and you get a Gin-a-Rita, a bright, botanical twist on a firm favourite that still keeps all the salt-rim theatre of the original.
Ingredients
- 50ml Batts Hill Surrey Dry Gin
- 25ml Cointreau (orange liqueur)
- 25ml lime juice
Method
- Rim your margarita glass: fill a saucer with about 1cm of kosher salt (not iodised table salt).
- Moisten the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, running it around the entire edge.
- Make sure the salt only goes on the outside of the glass, then gently roll the rim through the salt to coat.
- Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
- Strain into your prepared glass, garnish with lime and serve over ice.
